Sugarshack Downtown is a new live music venue and full restaurant and bar located at 27421 Old 41 Road in Downtown Bonita Springs. On this ±0.23-acre infill site, our team served as the prime consultant, providing civil engineering, site design, permitting support, and construction administration for a project that blends historic preservation with modern infrastructure.
Our work focused on solving complex site constraints within a very limited footprint. We designed the site layout to protect six large heritage oak trees, carefully coordinating grading, utilities, and building placement to preserve these significant natural features. A major component of our scope was the design of an underground stormwater exfiltration trench system, engineered to meet regulatory requirements while navigating multiple utility conflicts and protecting tree root zones on a tight urban site.
Beyond the technical challenges, this project was envisioned as a vibrant, lively community gathering place. Our site design supports an active, welcoming environment where locals and visitors come together to enjoy live music, food, and the character of Old Florida. By supporting the redevelopment of this key parcel along Old 41, our work contributes to the ongoing revitalization of Downtown Bonita Springs and helps establish Sugarshack Downtown as a destination that people genuinely love and return to in the heart of Bonita Springs.
